Nandana I. Kansra, M.D.
"I emphasize overall health and wellness for my patients and believe in controlling risk factors before they turn into disease. I partner with my patients to achieve the best possible health-care goals."
Dr. Nandana Kansra is an Internal Medicine Physician at the Shrewsbury location of Saint Vincent Medical Group. An on-staff Hospitalist at Saint Vincent Medical Group, she uses her degree in Public Health and experience in epidemiological work to address health issues ranging from diabetes and hypertension to the common cold.
Dr. Kansra stresses the need for follow-up appointments as an essential way to monitor progress and make the necessary adjustments that will enable patients to achieve the best outcome with their individualized healthcare plans. “With the help of diet and exercise prescriptions, we set reasonable goals together, factoring in enough time for patients to adopt a healthy lifestyle.”
She also emphasizes the importance of preventive medicine by ensuring that her patients stay up to date on tests and follow the prescribed wellness guidelines. “Undergoing regular tests, like pap smears, mammograms and colonoscopies for example, isn’t just helpful at the diagnostic stage; it gives patients a sense of where they stand in terms of their overall wellness.”
Prior to joining Saint Vincent Medical Group, Dr. Kansra held the position of Chief Medical Resident at Saint Vincent Hospital, where she completed her residency. She also completed an internship at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in Newton, Massachusetts and holds a masters degree in Public Health. Dr. Kansra attended medical school at the Indira Gandhi Medical College in Nagpur, India and is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
