About the Provider
Helen is a family nurse practitioner at St. Vincent Medical Group. She provides care to people of all ages from newborns to the elderly. Helen practiced as a nurse for four years before becoming an advanced practitioner. Helen decided to become an advanced practitioner because she wanted to make a larger difference in the lives of her patients. She strongly believes in preventative care. “Working on the inpatient side I witnessed how important routine screenings are in order to prevent health complications.” Helen also likes to take a patient centered care approach. “I believe that every patient should be included in the decision-making process in order to be proactive in their care. I want to meet with them and motivate them to improve their lifestyle choices for their overall health. Not every treatment will work for everyone, so I like to meet with patients to design a care plan that is unique to their needs.” She also loves to build relationships with people. “I love when I get to see patients coming back after each visit and see them doing well, or to even say hi!” When she is not busy helping patients, Helen enjoys working out, the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.
