Heather L. Briere, MS, FNP-BC, CCM
“I see myself as the broker of health care. I try to make things less confusing for my patient, and get to know each patient as an individual person so that I can provide the best options for him or her. Ultimately it is up to my patient to decide what is right for him or her. It is my job to give the patient the options, the pros and cons of the options, and then it is the patient’s job to make the decisions. I am never going to take that away from them.”
Heather Briere is a nurse practitioner in the Charlton clinic where she works collaboratively with Dr. Hope Ring. She has been a nurse practitioner since 2014. Heather received her Masters of Science in Nursing with education sub-specialty from University of Massachusetts in 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing from Fitchburg State College in 1995.
Heather loves to teach. “I love the glint that I see in a person’s eye when they finally understand something new. When I get to teach someone something new about their health, the reward is indescribable. In primary care, it is especially rewarding to see how a small amount of teaching can reap years of benefits that neither the patient nor I was expecting! I love my job!”
