About our Provider
Dr. Sheikh specializes in Internal Medicine, Geriatrics, Hospice & Palliative Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology.
A longtime resident of Massachusetts, she is experienced in providing care to a diverse patient population in both in-patient and out-patient settings. She strives to provide comprehensive and compassionate care to patients diagnosed with various malignancies and blood disorders supporting them through both the highs and lows of their medical journey. As a graduate of one of the few geriatric-oncology programs in the world, she takes special interest in providing optimal evidence-based care to the older adults diagnosed with cancer. She gives high priority to patients' quality of life and incorporates palliative care principles into routine oncologic care. She uses open communication as a basic tool to provide personalized patient-centered care.
Dr. Sheikh is excited to be practicing oncology in this era when new and better tolerated treatment options like immunotherapy and targeted therapies are emerging and positively impacting cancer prognosis. She aspires to stay abreast of the latest development and research in her field by actively participating in multiple professional societies including American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), American Society of Hematology (ASH) and International Society of Geriatric Oncology (SIOG). In addition to teaching, she is also enthusiastic about quality improvement.
