"Building a strong relationship with each of my patients is very important to me. I provide them with personal attention, taking care of both minor and major illnesses and coordinating their care with awareness of their individual needs."

Dr. Rebecca Spanagel is an Internal Medicine Physician at the Saint Vincent Hospital–Worcester Medical Center location of Saint Vincent Medical Group.  Dr. Spanagel cares for her patients using a personalized approach that relies on superior communication and advanced medical treatments.

The resources at Saint Vincent Medical Group afford Dr. Spanagel the opportunity to provide support for patients in ways both emotional and tangible. “I counsel patients at every visit and work with them on obtaining their goals for a healthy lifestyle. The support I can offer through Saint Vincent Medical Group includes referrals and recommendations for additional on-site or nearby resources and specialists who can further assist with those goals.”

The newly added patient portal, which will allow patients to view lab and test results, is another way Dr. Spanagel is able to offer outstanding care to her patients. “The patient portal is another channel of communication between me and my patients, and it allows patients to receive their results quickly independent of their physician’s schedule and time constraints.”

Board-certified in Internal Medicine, Dr. Spanagel completed both her internship and Internal Medicine residency at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. She holds a medical degree from the University Of Rochester School Of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, New York. She also holds a position on-staff at UMass Medical School in Worcester, Massachusetts, where she serves as mentor to first and second-year students and coordinates sub-internships for third and fourth-year students.
